Aliter Drop of Blood 2017

Our colleagues have volunteered this year as well to donate blood for medical purposes. The blood draw itself was carried out at a transfusion station at the Ružinov branch of the National Transfusion Service of the Slovak Republic (NTS SR).

The most determined donors (who donate blood at least ten times) are traditionally granted the Red Cross Plaque of Dr. J. Janský and eventually the Plaque of Dr. John Kňazovický. Jan Janský was a Czech neurologist and psychiatrist, who served for two years during World War I as a physician at the front, and who was one of the first to classify human blood into the four basic blood types.
