Technological foundations for NATO’s operations
Modern armed forces and international organisations depend on reliable information and communications systems.
In 2010, Aliter Technologies became the first Slovak ICT company to sign a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) framework contract with NCIA. It has since signed several contracts with the Alliance, including an IDIQ contract with Firm-Fixed Price with a ceiling of €30 million that had, until now, been its largest NATO project. The company also contributed to the Alliance Ground Surveillance (AGS) programme and, in 2023, signed a framework agreement with the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA).
“Sixteen years ago, we became the first Slovak company to sign a framework agreement with NATO. Back then, we had to prove that we could deliver. Today, we competitively won a contract worth more than our entire annual turnover,” said Ervin Haramia, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aliter Technologies.
NATO suppliers are subject to continuous performance assessment, covering areas such as quality of deliveries, adherence to deadlines, and the standards of the support provided.
“Security clearances and years of proven deliveries are among the entry conditions,” added Erik Flotischler, Chief Sales Officer of Aliter Technologies. “This contract is not a reward for a single good bid; it is the result of sixteen years of discipline.”
Aliter Technologies currently employs almost 200 specialists in Slovakia and more than 80 in Canada. In 2025, it reported revenues of over €71 million and has more than 300 completed projects to its name. Alongside NATO, its solutions are used by Airbus, BAE Systems, General Dynamics and Northrop Grumman. Its products comply with MIL-STD military standards and are certified for deployment in NATO environments.
