Innovations in Cyber Defense and Trends in Cybersecurity

Why traditional ZTNA is no longer enough? Traditional approaches to network security are reaching their limits. At the international conference Innovations in Cyber Defense and Trends in Cybersecurity II, held at the Armed Forces Academy in Liptovský Mikuláš, we opened a topic that is reshaping the way we think about secure access.

The browser as a new center of cyber defense

Our Security Engineering Team Lead, Filip Mikuš, together with Ľuboš Klokner, Solutions Consultant at Palo Alto Networks, demonstrated that a critical and often overlooked point in defense strategy is the web browser itself.

Key takeaways from the presentation on ZTNA trends:

✅ The browser as the main workspace: Today, up to 90% of work activities take place in the browser. It therefore deserves the same level of protection as traditional infrastructure—otherwise, it becomes our biggest security blind spot.

✅ Limitations of VPN and EDR: Traditional tools (VPN/EDR) secure the connection but lack visibility inside web applications. The Enterprise Browser addresses this gap and provides granular control exactly where conventional ZTNA solutions fall short.

✅ Efficiency without limitations: The new generation of protection enables full data control without slowing down users or requiring heavy endpoint agents (EDR/VPN).

International dialogue on cyber resilience

The conference, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic and in cooperation with AFCEA Slovakia, created a unique platform for dialogue between the public sector, armed forces, and technology leaders from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Canada.

We value the opportunity to contribute to building cyber resilience and to share our know-how with both future experts and current leaders in the field.
