Traditional protection in the form of fences, cameras, and physical security is no longer enough today. Hybrid threats, drones, and cyberspace attacks are changing the rules of the game. The targets are no longer just military facilities, but also energy, transport, healthcare, and water utilities. In a video interview for TREND magazine, Imrich Petruf, Chief Defense Advisor, explains how the concept of modern defense is changing and what role our technologies play in it.

🔹 Hidden threats and drones: The most dangerous attacks are those we do not yet know about (e.g., subliminal data manipulation). Furthermore, cheap drones can threaten incomparably more expensive targets.

🔹 Layered defense: The future does not belong to a single expensive system, but to a combination of radars, sensors, electronic warfare, lasers, and AI.

🔹 Lightning-fast response: Where there used to be minutes or hours to make a decision, today seconds are decisive. A human cannot evaluate the situation in such a short time, which is why artificial intelligence is increasingly entering defense systems to help recognize the threat and select an adequate response.

🔹 The innovation gap paradox: While we develop software in a matter of months, state procurements take years. The solution lies in open, software-defined systems with continuous updates.

🔹 Dual-use technologies: In times of peace, sensors, artificial intelligence, edge computing, or autonomous systems can monitor power lines, pipelines, or production lines, and in a crisis situation, help protect borders or critical facilities.
